No need for all y’all to burst into “Sorry Lindas” for not liking “Christmas Rose.” I know that one’s not going to be for everyone. Part of the fun of watching your video reviews is when you guys like a certain scent that I had passed over (I think “Mountain Lake” smells exactly like my husband’s Right Guard deodorant in “Fresh Blast.” Seriously. I hold one in each hand and close my eyes, and they smell identical)) , or hearing you shred a candle scent that I always like (Ah, Midsummer’s Night, the scent of over-cologned 14 year old boys everywhere, I am looking at you). Life would be boring if we all liked the same candles. It’s so funny that you are pulling more and more of your friends into the Yankee Candle addiction. MaryAnne and Jonathan should start making their own spin off videos. Happy Holidays to you all from my little corner of the interweb!

    Hi KJ-

I don’t know quite where you are in your Harry Potter re-read, but I’m doing one as well, and I find that I really, really, hate “The Order of the Phoenix.” Particularly opening that book right on the heels of closing “Goblet of Fire”– there is such a sudden character change in Harry that it feels like a whole new series. I suppose JK would defend it by saying that once Voldemort was back in corporal form, that it awakened the piece of his soul that lived inside Harry and Harry’s new personality (quick to anger, self-righteous, entitled, etc) was all a side effect of his being a Horcrux. There may be some credence to that idea, but all I know is that I can pretty much open that book to any page at random and start reading, and someone will be angry. I’m just trying to put my head down and plow through this read, with no real sense of enjoyment. Ick ick ick.

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Have a great new year!

    -Linda

PS- I hope Jonathan will share his opinion on the “Silver White Winters” facebook exclusive candle when he gets a chance!

I’m half way thru Half-blood prince. before i started order of the phoenix, i heard a similar conversation about the anger/resentment issues in the 5th book, so i think because i read it already expecting it, it didn’t bother me as much as it could have i was working hard to suck up every bit of happiness in there- like Sirius singing “God rest ye merry Hippogryphs” but the happy were few and far between. the bickering bothered me a lot more in the early books because i wasn’t expecting it. i think now I’ve become numb to it- which is sad.
